The Guest
i love how straighforward everything in this story is/was. i really enjoyed the idea of redemption and second chances. It made me wish that when i came to a cross roads i had someone in my face saying here's freedom and here's jail, take yur pick! haha. i also enjoy the fact that now in every dtory i read i look for religious allusions becasue i know there HAS to be one. it makes reading a story more enjoyable...like a word serch but different- if that makes sense; like how in this one the end of the story talked of the "invisible light" that is heaven. It never ceases to amaze me that once a second look or different perspective is taken on a story how many allusions to the Bible there really are.

Albert Camus is a genius. He is one of those people with names that just stick with you. I went to the library one when I was like 12 and picked up a Camus book and showed my dad. He was so surprised I would be interested in his writing and told me it was too deep for me at that age. I did not get to read it at the time but I am glad that I got to read it in English class. Ironically- it was "The Guest" I picked up at the library.
