In both the political and personal spectrums in the events of King Lear. The cunning betrayls are set in motion by the refusal of love by Cordelia to King Lear. She betrays her father and gives away her power of the kingdom, leaving Lear to give Goneril and Regan share of the Kingdom in spite of their love for him. Through out the play, families betray eachother, friends turn against eachother and the relationships that have all turned. While Cordelia is in France, Lear is undermined by the two other daughters, taking his authority and power. Their proffesions of love for him in the beginning and their betrayl then begin to drive him mad and he flees. All the while Edmumd, Edgar and Gloucester have become a disfunctional family. In the end all the betrayls come to justice as their offenders die.
Shakespeare writes of thei tragic time of events with the reoccurence of betrayl and justice. Every cunning plot was slaughtered and its actions unhinged with the death of the plotter. The families that were torn apart by back-stabbing die and those that are left have the fait of a morning kingdom. The tragic events that are fueld by jealousy, greed and hate come to an end in the tragic broken heart of King Lear as he dies with Cordelia in his arms. Shakespeare kills those who did wrong, but also those that were innocent. His theme of justice swallows the good conquers evil theory, as the kingdom is left without villians or heros.
