NOT a High School Musical

Since we are passing Kudos around, I thought I would mention something in need of recognition.

In the past, I've gone to high school quality musicals before. Once Upon A Mattress is no high school musical...it is a SHOW. I encourage all of you who have not yet seen it to head out Saturday night for the final performance.

Ashley, Brigid, Luke, Tyler, Portia, everyone involved: You have given me yet another reason to be proud of you all. Whether you are going to see the musical to find out how Ashley manages to sing like that or to see Brigid do a dance I never could attempt or to see Tyler's showstealing minstrel or, a personal favorite, Cardamon (sp?) the GreatEST whose BAMs! will have you jumping ten feet in the air while his dialogue makes even the most serious of Principals laugh hysterically, you have got to go and see this musical. It is worth the price of admission and then some.

Congratulations to you on a fantastic and truly entertaining performance. Look at that...I was entertained and I learned a valuable lesson (just how talented you all are). Must be art.

Mr. B

  1. I went on Saturday. Amazing. I loved seeing all you guys up there. Luke, I think I speak for everyone when I say I'm going to give you so much crap for the rest of the year. Your character was pretty BAM BAM! awesome (the nightingale was awesome too).

  2. Beyond epic, as usual for the NSHS crew. Seriously, you people were AMAZING. And very classy with the teacher/tech/mommy awards. Way to represent. I can't believe you guys can juggle ap class(es) with all those hours of practice. Congratulations on a show well done. <3

  3. Aw I had to cover the play for yearbook and I thought it was so cute. It was very entertaining (honestly, not what I was expecting), I was a little upset that I didn't get to take pictures while they were performing, but I think the spread in the Spring supplement will look just fine :)

    good job guys!

  5. So I've gone to all the musicals at North since I've been here and it has been great watching everyone improve so much. One thing I especially loved about this one is that it was absolutely hilarious. Everyone was really great. Ashley's voice always takes my breath away :) Tyler and Brigid made me laugh, and the rest of the cast was amazing as well. Great job guys!

The musicals are always amazing. Good job you guys. Also I wanted to say congrates to all the wonderful achievements of not only tonight at Senior Awards but at the banquet as well. And also thank you to Mr. Bruno for coming up with the idea and for putting up with me this year, especially with all my bad days. Best wishes to everyone next year in your future educations!

  7. Thanks, everyone. :) That really means a lot. It was so much fun, and behind the scenes very stressful, haha.
Congradulations to all of the award winners and honor students at the Senior Awards.

  10. First of all, you are a little biased Mr. Bruno. Second, I feel extremely lame for not having any talents. And third, I couldn't make the musical because I was out of town, but based on all of the past performances I've seen, I am very impressed with all of the cast and crew :)

  11. WOW! I am so glad I went and once the show was over, I felt like I was going to cry becuase it was on Saturday and I definitely wanted to see it again! Good job to all those involed! Absolutely amazing and I was glad to see that the auditorium was packed. I'm sure like me, many people felt like their money was well spent on a great event. Plus, it was like 3 hours long! Long and amazing! Great acting and vocals were astonishing! I only hope that the drama kids to come will have as much talent as this years did. Great job guys! :)

  13. I can easily say it was one of my favorites, compared to every other show throughout the four years of high school. Honestly, I thought the show was going to be a typical, hey-here's-how-the-story-went kinda deal, but I was immensely relieved it was a kickarse parody.
Mmm. And the innuendo. Oh goodness that made my night.
And I will never forget the scene with Luke in that atrocious costume. I literally had tears of laughter running down my face.
