To say thank you to Mr. Bruno. I know we all did pretty well on the exam. For me, I can say that it was a lot better than what I thought it would be, and all the preparation he gave us helped us immensely on the test.
So I just wanted to say thanks a lot, Mr. B.

Way to lead the way Tyler!
ReplyDeleteYes, this is very true. I knew more than I thought I would, especially in comparison to practice tests from the beginning of the year, middle of the year, and now. And also thank you for buying us delicious bagels Bruno!
This was a good idea.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I've learned a lot in this class and even if I haven't advanced to anywhere new, I definitely look at writing differently.
I think that since I expected the exam to be uberly hard that when I actually got to it that it really wasn't that bad (hopefully thats the case because if not I did really bad on the test..)
:)
I honestly didn't realize you liked us Mr. Bruno until recently. You're such an intimidating person!
ReplyDeleteEither way, my opinions on life in general have changed countless times thanks to you. I'm wary of received wisdom and question everything now. I will take things like "Answer the question!" and "Or is it?" with me through life, man.
Rock on Mr.B.
(And I still want baby Ben. :D)
Mr. Bruno, I have to say, my view on many things has changed as a result of one of our many discussion in class, and I mean this in a good way haha. I can without a doubt say choosing this class over DE English was one of the best decisions I've made in high school because I learned a great deal and had a lot of fun while doing it. The research paper, though difficult, was a good thing overall because now I know that I can do it and I think it is good practice for those intense college papers!
ReplyDeleteA few times I've wondered (very briefly) if I should have taken DE English instead simply to boost my GPA, and then sense returns to me and I realize that would have been a huge mistake because I've learned so much in our class. I'm no longer intimidated by writing papers in my college English class like most of my friends are because I feel prepared, especially after writing our 15 page research paper! Also, we got to got to the Log Cabin, which was super fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mr. Bruno. I know that I can apply this class to where ever I may go. I've learned so much about different things, that I've never thought of before. I can't wait to go off to college and apply myself as much as I've applied myself here.
ReplyDeleteYeah, honestly, Mr. Bruno, you scare the shit out of me. But hey, thanks for your severe teaching methods, they've certainly made me a different learner, almost killed me in the process, but have "changed me for the better." You Bruno's do have a knack for the education thing. Well, mot capitain, thank you for being the first teacher I look up to literally and metephorically.
ReplyDeleteAbout that exam. I so wish we hadn't gone over the essays in class because now I'm very nervous over my grade.
ReplyDeleteBut, WHEN I WAS TAKING IT, I felt very at ease and very prepared. I felt like the entire class was a test prep
I felt like I did pretty decent on the AP test. As scared as we all were to walk into the room, I felt like it all went down well. The test itself was not as hard as I thought it was going to be. I'm glad I stayed after for that afternoon study session the day before. I used someo of the techniques we talked about and even Mrs. Smith's advice was useful. I agree on the research paper factor. Since it was so long, I felt like the essays we had to write for the AP test were easier to handle and I just hope mine were good enough to get credit for. Overall, I felt prepared for the test and I think as a class, we all did our absolute best in the end and hopefully all the hard work payed off. Good job Mr. Bruno and classmates!
ReplyDeleteIn the immortal words of Ahmed the dead Terrorist, "I CAN DO THIS CRAP TOO!"
ReplyDeletemr. bruno, i know you wont believe this, but i have learned so much in your class. and im glad the year is over when im writing this so you dont think im trying to butter you up :), but you'''re definitely one of the best teachers i've ever had. i love when i can tell that my teachers know what they are talking about and that they love and enjoy it. your love for teaching made the classroom so much more alive than many other classrooms i have been in. i am so sad this year is ending, though i will not miss any of the work. thanks for loving what you do, because that made so much more of a difference. you will definitely be one of the teachers that we will all look back on and remember for a long time.
ReplyDeletethanks bru bru!
I agree, Mr Bruno prepared us very well for the exam. I learned a new way to look at literature and how to write about it and I have come to understand so much with his lessons in class.
